Match Masters Ranks: How it works
Rank in Match Masters is determined by your trophy count. Win matches to earn trophies, lose matches to lose trophies. There are no protection shields — every match is a live trophy transaction.
Trophies determine your matchmaking tier. Players are matched against opponents within a similar trophy range. As you climb, opponents get stronger and use better boosters, making the game progressively more competitive.
Boosters are also unlocked progressively through rank — higher-tier boosters require reaching specific trophy milestones before they appear in your collection.

Key Rank Milestones to Target
1,400 Trophies — Teams Unlock
The 1,400 trophy milestone is a major turning point. This is when you can join or create a team. Teams provide daily booster donations, team events, and sticker trading with teammates.
If you’re below 1,400 trophies, this should be your current priority.
5,000 Trophies — Booster Stakes Begin
Booster Stakes (x2 and x3 multipliers) unlock at the Expert tier. This changes the game fundamentally. A single match with x3 Booster Stakes earns as many trophies and event points as 3 normal matches.
Players who reach Expert tier and learn to use Booster Stakes correctly climb ranks 3x faster than those who don’t.
30,000 Trophies — Master Rank + x4/x5 Stakes
The Master rank threshold unlocks Booster Stakes x4 and x5, giving the highest-level players the ability to 5x their rewards in a single match.
At Master rank, opponents are almost always using Diamond or Legendary boosters. This tier requires consistent daily play and a full stack of high-tier boosters maintained through gift links and events.
How to Rank Up Fast in Match Masters
- Use Booster Stakes whenever confident — x2 multiplier on consistent wins triples your climb speed vs no stakes
- Maintain On Fire status — 3-match win streaks trigger On Fire, which boosts trophies per win for the entire streak duration
- Build Diamond booster stock first — you need a consistent supply to use Booster Stakes without running dry. Daily gift links are essential.
- Play Match Rumble weekly — event point gains are separate from trophy gains, but the match practice improves your win rate in ranked play
- Don’t play when tilted — a 3-loss streak costs trophies and breaks your On Fire status. Walk away and return fresh.
- Study the studio board — each studio has a preferred layout. Use boosters that match the board’s dominant tile color for maximum chain potential.

Yes. Match Masters has no rank protection. Every match loss costs trophies. The trophy amount lost scales with your current rank and the opponent's trophy count. Higher-rank mismatches result in fewer trophies lost.
When does Booster Stakes unlock in Match Masters?
Booster Stakes x2 and x3 unlock at approximately 5,000 trophies (Expert tier). Booster Stakes x4 and x5 unlock at 30,000 trophies (Master tier).
What’s the highest rank in Match Masters?
Master rank (30,000+ trophies) is the current highest tier with the most features unlocked. Within Master rank, players continue climbing indefinitely — there's no trophy cap.
Do boosters affect trophy gain in Match Masters?
Yes. Better boosters generally increase your win rate, which means more trophies over time. Booster Stakes multipliers also directly increase trophies earned per win — a x3 staked match earns 3x normal trophies.
At what rank can I join a team in Match Masters?
