Match Masters Teams give players access to cooperative features that can provide additional boosters, sticker-trading opportunities, team rewards, and event participation.

Once teams become available, joining an active group can add another layer of rewards and resources beyond what you earn from individual matches.

This guide explains how to join or create Match Masters teams, what you can do after joining, how booster requests and sticker trading work, how Team Competition events add rewards, and when it makes sense to leave an inactive team.

How Match Masters Teams Work

Teams in Match Masters are permanent social groups of up to a capped number of players. Once you’re in a team, you can request boosters and stickers from teammates daily, participate in Team Competition events, and access team-exclusive chat and strategy coordination.

The feature unlocks automatically when you reach 1,400 trophies — no other steps required. If you’re below 1,400, reaching this threshold should be your short-term priority before focusing on team-based reward strategies.

How to Join a Team in Match Masters

  1. Open the Match Masters app and ensure you’ve reached 1,400 trophies
  2. Tap the Teams icon from the main menu
  3. Browse open teams from the list, search by name, or use a direct invite link
  4. Tap Join on any open team — teams requiring invite approval will show a request option instead

When choosing a team, look at recent activity timestamps. A team with no activity in the last 3 days is functionally inactive — choose one with daily check-ins from multiple members.

Key tip: Activity level matters more than team rank. An active mid-tier team delivers more daily boosters and sticker trades than an inactive high-rank team.

How to Create Your Own Team

Creating a team costs a small coin fee. You become the Team Leader with full admin rights: naming the team, setting the join requirement (open or invite-only), and kicking inactive members.

Creating your own team only makes practical sense if you have a group of active players to fill it with. An empty team created solo provides no more benefit than being teamless. If you’re starting from scratch, join an existing active team first and build your network before considering your own.

What Can You Do in a Match Masters Teams?

Daily Booster Requests

Once per 24 hours, you can make a free booster request to your team. Teammates see the request and can fulfil it from their surplus collection. You can also receive unsolicited gifts when teammates send them proactively.

Request strategy: Request the booster tier you’re currently running low on — if your Diamond stock is healthy and your Gold is depleted, request Gold. Don’t always request the highest tier; teammates are more likely to fulfil requests for common-tier boosters they have surplus of.

Sticker Trading

Teammates can send each other stickers to help complete albums. Regular stickers can be traded at any time. Gold stickers can only be traded on Sundays.

The sticker trading mechanic is the primary reason to join an active team even if you don’t care about team events. Completing a sticker album 2–3 weeks faster (through trades vs solo collection) means earning an extra Legendary chest per season.

Team Competition Events

Team Competition is a weekly event exclusive to team members. Every match win by any team member contributes to the team’s collective score. Top-finishing teams receive rewards distributed to every member, regardless of individual contribution level.

  • Team Competition runs simultaneously with individual events — your match wins count for both
  • Using Booster Stakes x2 or x3 during Team Competition multiplies both your individual trophy gain and your team point contribution
  • Coordinate with your top 5 players to ensure the team’s best players are active during the event window

Team Chat and Strategy

Teams have an in-app chat for coordinating strategy, announcing active event windows, and organizing sticker trades. Active team chats significantly improve coordination during Team Competition — you know which teammates are currently playing and where the team’s leaderboard position is trending.

When to Leave a Team

Leave your team if members have been inactive for 3+ consecutive days. An inactive team provides zero daily booster requests, no sticker trades, and no meaningful Team Competition performance.

The daily cost of staying in an inactive team is real — you’re missing booster requests and sticker trades that a more active team would provide.

Leaving and rejoining teams has no penalty. Find a more active team through the search function, filtering by recent activity.

Frequently Asked Questions

At what trophy count do teams unlock in Match Masters?

Teams unlock at 1,400 trophies. Once you hit this threshold, the Teams feature becomes available automatically in your main menu.

How many booster requests can you make per day in a team?

One free booster request per 24 hours. You can make the request at any time — the 24-hour cooldown starts from the moment you submit the request, not at midnight.

Can you be in multiple teams at once?

No. You can only be in one team at a time. Leaving a team removes you immediately — you can rejoin or join a different team with no waiting period.

What happens to your team rewards if you leave before the event ends?

Leaving a team during an active Team Competition typically forfeits your share of team rewards for that event. Stay through event completion before switching teams if you're mid-event.
